NSWGR Early Days Sleeping Cars 8 and 9

Hello Everyone.   I am hoping those members who model the early days of the railways might be able to help.   I have nearly completed a scratchbuilt model of Sleeping Car No. 9 which was an American Gilbert Palace Sleeping Car, and have a couple of questions that need an answer (or a reasonably informed guess!)
Firstly, the lights in the clerestory section of the roof.   Would they have been clear or frosted?
Secondly, the Crown lights in the body windows.   They are appear to have a blind fitted.   What colour would they have been (presumably) and lastly, the main windows appear to be curtained (rather than drop down blinds as on later stock)   Can someone offer a suitable colour for these curtains noting the period.   I am modelling Lady Robertson as built, not her later incarcerations.
I have both "Coaching Stock of the NSW Railways" and "NSW Railways in Colour 1855-1955" but they do not shed much light on the colours.

Here's hoping!

If the details are not in those books I would suggest checking out the new one not long in print, NSWGR colours 1855-1956.

Hi a6et.   We both got it wrong.   NSWR in Colour 1855-1957  But as I mentioned, I have that book and whilst it shows the interior of a contemporary American Sitting Car, its not much help.

Good book that one, have only got a few pages in for the articles as yet, have skimmed it though and like what I found.

This is the problem with trying to model in specific era's especially the early days, I remembered there is a group who do model the early days and have a convention each year, link here https://www.facebook.com/groups/290028168012314/  Someone there may be able to help.
