Still a bit of grain trickling into Lillimur, all but over though and word has it, they will continue to outload all of Lillimur's grain by truck to Portland, big task. You would more than likely assume they will also keep up the nice flow of trains as well, perhaps there's still a bit of life left in the Portland grain terminal yet, despite all the bashing it has received, me included.

So who would like to see, a semi permanent camera to add to the list ?

Camera sounds good.

Trains up to June so I've been told but probably not every day.

I don't mind trucks, gives me something to photograph while waiting for the train.

2 things

1. both locations are on rail so why the need for trucks?

2. I have the camera setup for Portland sitting on my floor in my office.  it is solar powered and would take me around 2 hours to setup if we can find a nice location and would be fully automated.

2 things

1. I have posted before, Lillimur's silo's have been condemned so no loading of trains, however given the volumes the site has received over the past few years, it would be well worth GrainCorp looking at constructing a new road for the loading of trains. I will get word to the manager of the site and sus thing's out....

2. the camera on your office floor will give far better pictures out on the rails, action jackson bevans, fire the crew in Portland up for an instillation.

BigShunter.

can you turn the camera on in your office so we can see what happens in the nerve center of operations....Razz

Two grain ships due now, AFRICAN LUNDE and ALPHA BULKER.  Looks like they're making use of the portable grain loader.

A camera at Portland or Heywood would be excellent but how would it Work as there are no current updates in the camera section since 2 years.

It would only be on site when there was a reasonable chance of a good grain season. It would save BigShunter's mum having to duck out, video the train, email it to BS, who sends it to me to upload to Vimeo, then post it here...

Posting here is the easy bit. The rest is a bit of a process.

Saw the portable grain loader at the port yesterday, unfortunately too early to see it working, also saw one of the Riordan trucks arriving today so it's the same company that loaded a ship a few years ago.

8167 and it was his second visit here.  Was here with 8134 a few days before this, also 8134's first visit.

Last train didn't depart until 1st Feb as all three locos had issues, G523 arrived to rescue them but also had issues.  They finally departed about 2015.
I'll find some decent photos when I have a bit more time.  No more Graincorp ships due yet, all the other grain ships are loading by truck.
