Talking to a mate in Cavendish this morning, bumper ta bumper truck's carting grain from up North, his neighbor drives for Iluka, Ouyen to Portland and said, yesterday 20 plus trucks lined up to unload at the Port of Portland.......

BigShunter.

incidentally, the log traffic from s.a. has started again, heading for Geelong through Cavendish, even in A-Double configuration !

All those grain trucks are needed, two grain ships in and four on the way, all to be loaded via the portable loader and trucks.

We've had a few trains visit while RP was down. The last was 8163, BL33 and BL27 on 30/1. I didn't get any good photos, unfortunately.
8167 and it was his second visit here.  Was here with 8134 a few days before this, also 8134's first visit.

Last train didn't depart until 1st Feb as all three locos had issues, G523 arrived to rescue them but also had issues.  They finally departed about 2015.
I'll find some decent photos when I have a bit more time.  No more Graincorp ships due yet, all the other grain ships are loading by truck.

Stoopid question I know but how do four locos all fail same time same place unless there is an underlying fleet maintenance problem? Rolling Eyes

Impressive.
I prefer the black loco front numbers over the wishy washy silver (?) ones.

Today’s train had a large number of freshly painted VHAFs. Nothing fancy, just plain green and new stencilling.

I’ll post a photo tomorrow.

Edit...

And the locos...

Another PN grain loaded at Ouyen today with G542 on the front. A good chance that will be heading to Portland too.

Looks like on the side of the road. The ends aren't done. It's a rough job, but they're tidy for the moment.
