Trainorama 44 replacement motor

  Booly Junior Train Controller

Anyone out there know what replacement motors fit the 44 ? Got one that dropped it's guts. And only after a few hours of running.
With all the gear problems we have all come across , I realy think the quality of the trainorama loco's is pretty average ( i also have a 48 with a failed motor as well ) detail wise they are very good , but a loco that doesn't run after minimal usage is not very good at all. I have contacted Trainorama and they don't have any spares available for the 44 & 48.
Thanks in advance for any assistance

Have you tried to contact TOR regarding the problem?  Sometimes the phone does not work but send them an email. include details and age of the models will help.

There is problems in China and the TOR factory that produces their models also produces TOR motors but the same factory produces motors for other companies as well.

The other aspect is that TOR and other clients have been advised that future orders will be attracting a 15% increase in price.

1st run . So it is about 12 years old now , but as I said in the opening post it has done bugger all running . That is the disappointing thing. Ive got another 3 trainorama 44's , 3 42's and 2 48's(besides the one with a failed motor ) and im just hoping that i dont have a problem with them in the future.

I have a motor that seems to be no longer available bought for about $10 from you know where.  Funnily enough two that I ordered seemed to disappear off the face of the earth and the sender went off market so I bought 3 from another dealer.  I have fitted one to an Athearn switcher and it runs very well.

Believe it or not, last night I checked my letter box to get out junk mail and the extra two were sitting in it posted in August 2019!  If you PM your email and an address, I can send you dimensions and see if it will fit. I am not familiar with the 44 as I model Canadian anyway  but if it is satisfactory, you can have it at what I paid and postage. I don't need 4 spares, or at least I hope I do not!

Failing that, a check of Ebay will find motors that are recommended as replacements for Athearns etc.

If I can help, let me know
