Hope you get better soon. Pic of 8161 and BL31. Only the two locos today. X48 is still in the yard.

Great shot RR, is that a conveyor for bauxite inbound to the smelter? And if so is it a belt or something else?

Also I would like to second the views of a couple of different posters from this week,

First, get well soon Y115

Second, thanks to you both, this is a top little thread and you guys do a great job between you (with a little help from Shunter, Wobert and a few others perhaps)

Thanks BG. I just grab a snap when I can. I usually don’t have time to wait around.

That is a conveyor belt to carry bauxite to the smelter. It’s a mix of overhead and underground. I have a map at work of a proposal to use rail for transport. It looked to be a one way loop from the port to the smelter, then connect back to the north end of the yard. Basically it would have followed the current Madeira Packet Rd.

The conveyor is a much better option.

Train arrived early morning, should be same locos as Friday's train (8148 etc).  Not sure how many more we get before the next break,
Hope to be out again before the end of the week.

Train arrived about 0600, I think it's 8161 and a couple of BLs.  Possibly the last one for awhile, will know tomorrow.
Graincorp has another big ship visit planned, no name or date yet.
Other big grain ship due at anchorage later today or early tomorrow, I think they already have enough grain stored for that one.
Freezing here this morning, almost glad I can't get out.

Hey @bevans there is a nice pole there for a camera!

Testing is continuing for the new railcam system.

My timing was off - the locos were at the far end of the wharf. 8161 is there, but I can't tell what the others are. I think the lead loco is BL31.

The XR and BL 33 loaded in Nhill. The South Australian  mob(I keep forgetting their name) came through at about 11 or 12  in the morning whilst PN were loading, down to Dimboola, loaded back through Nhill at about 4 PM or so, PN still loading, got away just on dark. I'm expecting to see a K class with 25 GY s any day soon.

I don't think there's any K's on SG. What's the NSWGR equivalent? Laughing

One of the 'Standard Goods' classes (50, 53 or 55 class), and K trucks are a near equivalent to GYs.

  • Gorgoypikoos

Don't know which is/are grain or chips?

Correction: Windsor Adventure only arrived 25/5 having left Bell Bay on 6/5

Thanks Y115.
Windsor Adventurer has not been been there 'for weeks' as I originally thought. It had spent 18 days or so enroute from Bell Bay.
