Caravans on Aussie trains

Hi, I'm undertaking some minor research on caravans on trains in Australia and .... there aren't too many photos around.  I have only found two!

I'm lead to believe that caravan's were sent to Mt Isa by rail post cyclone Tracey in early 1975.  I also know some Chesney Caravan's that were built at the Lawnton, Qld factory were placed on QR wagon's at Strathpine for distribution.

Which leads me here, does anyone have in their collection the odd photo of a caravan on a wagon or motorail, whether it be for retail delivery or just a family holiday with a Kingswood and Viscount perched together on a wagon.

I would be grateful for any leads & thanks in advance.

I lived in Peterborough in 1975/76 and there were many caravans sent by rail that I saw in Broken Hill ... I was on the IP heading east and they would have gone on the SAR on train 700 at night and through to Pt Pirie (arriving about 5am) then onto Marree, again usually overnight as exchanges/transhipments were carried out during the day for safety reasons and of course on to Alice Springs where you would have been "defeated" by the remoteness and therefore even fewer photographers.  Your best  bet might be to repost this on the NSW site as those trains would have been in daylight there.

Search for photos of the Ghan train in the narrow gauge era. I took my campervan on it in1979. I don't have scanned photos yet.

Back in about 1985 or so, when I was posted to Barcaldine, pre railway career, and I could not get any decent accommodation in town, I bought a 27ft caravan in Brisbane, and had it railed to Barcaldine. Sorry, no pictures.

Thanks all for your posts and advice.  I will follow up your suggestions.

Here is a link to a Caravan Proboard site where I've assembled some rail / caravan info for anyone that is interested.
