So the Engine Room is now in charge of the Titanic? No-one on the Bridge? That can only be a good thing, can't it?

Not just the 3rd MP, but the 3rd Government MINISTER.

And the engine room is flooding.
Gladys reasoning behind her resignation is clear.
Constance intends to run for federal seat of Gilmore.
Will Bruz stand for Eden-Monaro, or move on quietly?

Bruz has decided to end his career in politics. He said that he'll "be a observer of politics, but not participating in it". He has been planning on resigning for over a year because of the friendlyjordies malarkey. But after Andrew Constance resigned. Which he was planning on doing over a year ago as well. John followed suit.

Barnaby has been out this morning with another sermon on how good GB was and how ICAC is frightening politicians. OMG

I feel very strongly about a federal ICAC need (prevented from being installed by LIBS and LABOR) and when ICAC do move in corruption the politicians are angry.

Hi all, John Barilaro (aka Barry Boy) has resigned as Deputy Premier, Minister for Regional NSW, Industry and Trade, and from Parliament. This is the 3rd MP to resign, meaning that until at least the by elections happen. We now have a minority governemnt. Meaning that the Collation need another party to be able to pass ANYTHING! For more information: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-10-04/nsw-deputy-premier-john-barilaro-resigns/100511638

I think you are misunderstanding the process here, and in your comments earlier about Deputy Premier.

Firstly, the Deputy Premier in the coalition is the leader of the Nats.  It will not be Ayers, Stokes, Kean or anyone else from the Libs.  It will be whoever replaces Barilaro.

Ayers/Stokes whoever, will be the deputy leader of the Liberal party.  Currently that is Perrotett, and he is not the deputy Premier.

On this minority government comment, we are already in a minority government (albeit a safe one given Sidotti and Ward will vote whatever libs vote).  The three MPS have not yet resigned and there is no parliamentary sitting right now that they need to vote at.  All of these resignations will be looked at very carefully to ensure that the timing does not impact the government's capability to function.  I dont know how it will work with parliament sitting in November but im sure there are conventions.

My thoughts exactly when I heard about this - he was being protected by Gladys and when she was forced to quit he saw the writing on the wall and decided to go too. Frankly he was an embarrassment, I mean seriously - calling the counter-terrorism squad onto someone you don't like? That stinks of 'abuse of power'.

I've seen a lot of this misinformation spreading around. Like nobody knows how the coalition works. Two parties, two leaders, one gets Premier (leader of the larger party -- in this case, the Libs) and one gets Deputy Premier (leader of the smaller party -- in this case, the Nats).

It does somewhat please me we don't get a Nat (especially not Barilaro) as Premier. Can you imagine that?

Depends on the Nat.  A liberal Chester type would be ok.  A Barnaby type, ufff, i think id have to move.

True, true - but I'm not sure we have any decent Nats in the NSW Parliament, do we?

The problem with the state parliaments is that too many of them are seat keepers rather than anything more effectual and we dont know who half of them are.

Yet another argument for why we dont need states - half or more of the MPs are may as well not be there.

Could this change the plan for NSW in the reopening with a new Premier, I think it could! Dom Perrottet is a go getter when it comes to the economy, he could well cut back the plans in terms of the % needed.

A Perrottet Government will completely change NSW politics and even Federal relations. Expect a much accelerated approach to the end of the Pandemic lockdowns and border closures (booth State borders and International).

In a RP focus, expect some further Industrial troubles with the Unions currently negotiating their EA and the introduction of the NIF.

No more "Business as usual", interesting times ahead. Next NSW general election is 23 March 2023. 18 months is long enough to change many things, but there is the issue of 3 by-elections in the meantime which may affect the ability to hold out to Mar 23.

Religious nutter, homophobe, climate change denier, not a big fan of COVID-19 lockdowns. IE the economy is more important than the lives of the electorate and not in favour of renewable energy...just your usual far right wing stuff.

Well, I know he is not a big favour of Lockdown's, cause he mentioned sometime last year that he would not lockdown with 200 cases a day (this was before vaccines), but fortunately now, there has been massive vaccine uptake in NSW, so it shouldn't cause much of an issue really.
