Where does liberty steel get its iron ore from ?

From the Middleback Ranges on the Eyre Peninsula as it has always done.

The Whyalla Steelworks were BHP, then became OneSteeel, then Arrium and are now known as Liberty Steel.

The mines are now owned by Simec Mining, but this has the same owner as Liberty Steel.

Where does Liberty Steel's product go to in Melbourne?

I'm guessing it isn't Long Island?

CSR15 + CSR16 are in use now, both on this morning's 6MP9 service out of Melbourne according to Gheringhap Loop sightings page.

Some SCT action of recent days including first east-west run of QUBE steel wagons and some more CSR's entering service. The VR livery S+T idea didn't work out as planned and today they are on the way back to Victoria on 7AM9.

Great videos. Thanks PJ.
Great to see some new/clean/modern steel wagons.
Apart from the RKKYs and the tilt beds I cannot recall a new steel wagon in 50 years.

Great videos, thanks for posting.  Do you have any info as to why the S & T didn't work out?  I'm guessing ALARC's TL155 & 103 have come off-hire from SCT thus the S & T units were hired.  Cheers.

6PM9 through Gheringhap today was 100 wagons.  Must be a record?

We had a 108 wagon SCT service a few weeks ago.

The increased use of 40' PQSY's should see SCT regularly getting close to 100 wagons on the east-west route.
