He's not an anti-vaxxer. Vaccination is not mandatory in this country. A press beat-up and federal government incompetence.

Djokovic was back on the news this morning saying that vaccination (and anything else he puts into his body), should be the choice of the individual.
Fine; I don't believe that anybody ever said anything else - it is his choice, just as it's our choice to set rules about who can cross the border, and under what conditions. He apparently still can't understand such a simple idea.

You shouldn't wish badness on anybody, even this tennis fool. He's following the anti-vax hymnbook with his 'I'm not anti-vax but a freedom warrior' nonsense. Interesting to see that a card carrying lefty can use a notorious anti-homosexual slur with no blowback, but if a person if faith does it......

Djokovic did comply with the entry conditions. Much to the embarrassment of the Commonwealth government, that was what the first court case was all about.

Some recent comments from the Prime Minister about the anti-vaxxers demonstrating in Canberra, after the anti-vaxxers forced the cancellation of a charity fundraiser:

“My message to them [demonstrators] today is Australia is a free country and they have a right to protest, and I would ask them to do that in a peaceful way and a respectful way," he said.

Mr Morrison reminded protesters that state governments were largely responsible for vaccine mandates, and it was not a Commonwealth issue.

"I'm going to be very clear when it comes to the issue of vaccine mandates: [The] Commonwealth government has only ever supported mandates that relate to aged care workers, disability workers and those who are working in high-risk situations in the health system," he said at a press conference.

"All other mandates that relate to vaccines have been imposed unilaterally by state governments.”

"They have not been put in place by the Commonwealth government. In fact, the Commonwealth government cannot impose such a mandate.”

Guess you can have your cake . . . . . . . . . .

Ok - if the Commonwealth Government isn't the responsible body, who decided Djokovic's visa wasn't valid? Who deported him?
  kitchgp Chief Commissioner

According to press reports, at least four other players and officials were also issued visas by the Commonwealth government. At least one of those (plus an official) was in Australia playing tennis when Djokovic was stopped at the airport. Not having the funds to fight it, she was deported before Djokovic won his case.

The comments, above, to the anti-vaxxers by the Prime Minister were merely added as an example of the duplicitous nature of the Prime Minister.

kitchgp
the successful appeal was on the basis of a procedural technicality, not on his compliance with his visa conditions which was
(a) only ever partial, and
(b) since discovered to have been fraudulent.

The first court decision still stands.

Choko either lied to get the visa or put children who looked to him as a hero, at risk of getting covid. Border force didn't follow procedure correctly. That's what the decision that 'still stands' was about.
  justapassenger Minister for Railways

In a technical sense yes, but only because it was superseded by other developments rather than appealed.

There's also the matter of Djokovic's fraudulent conduct against the Commonwealth which was unearthed not long after he left Australia. There is no time limit for commencing a prosecution for fraud under Commonwealth law, so we have probably seen him play in Australia for the last time ever.
  kitchgp Chief Commissioner

It's high likely that it will be a different 'Commonwealth' by the time of the next Australian Open.

You. You used an insulting inflamatory word, traditionally used as a sly insinuation that somebody is homosexual, to refer to Djokovic. Your Lefty mates on this board will no doubt let it slide, say 'oh, language has evolved' or some such nonsense. I'm not going to repeat the word, if you've half a cracker in your head, you'll know it.

Go on prove it. Because I sure as hell do not remember insinuating that Djokovic is homosexual. In any case what is insulting about being homosexual? I don't remember uttering any sort of Anti-Homosexual slur either.  Yes I did call Djokovic a no mark. And I said screw him. If you are referring to that as a sexual reference, you need to remove your head from the gutter.

So by all means try and equate what I have said to the dreadful slurs that you have uttered on this forum. Because at the end of the day, behind all that flowery language you've got nothing.

Well, billy; I admire your dogged persistence in seeking out evil, but I'm afraid that I can't see any place where Bayside Manny ( or anyone else) has said or implied that Djokovic is homosexual.
Keep it up; we all need to be reminded of enemies we didn't even know about.

So that's your proof? Billy. Something out of the Urban Dictionary.

I was referring to the point that Nigel Farage, a racist, a liar and a massive hypocrite of the worst kind, is supporting of Novax Djokovic. No reference intended whatsoever to Mr. Djokovic's sexual preferences at all. If it pleases you I will replace wrongun with nomark.

But without knowing who Prime Minister Albanese will commission to the Immigration and Citizenship portfolio, it's impossible to predict whether this might result in a ministerial decision to waive Djokovic's ban on applying for a visa and order any federal departments/agencies to abandon any investigations into criminal offences committed.

But if ND does decide to reciprocate Frenchy Farage's affection for him (which is totally legal in most democracies including Australia) I do hope he does the right thing by his wife Jelena and two kids.

Looks like Mannie has been taking lessons from Don Dunstan about how to react when busted. Mannie, why did you use a term, well known to be a hughly offensive term for homosexuals, to refer to Djokovic?

I didn't see any term which I recognize as offensive to homosexuals, and I haven't been hiding in a cloister for 81 years. I congratulate billy on his extensive knowledge of slurs and insults. Is that what religion teaches?
  BaysideManny Chief Train Controller

@billybaxter No it looks like you are taking the playbook from Donnie. I have already explained that no reference was made about Djokovics sexuality at all. I unlike you was unaware what wrongun meant.

I can keep on telling you til I am blue in the face and you like @don_dunstan will never hear it. Why because according to you I am a card carrying lefty.
