R766,
Why do they need a crossing loop at Elmhurst?
Often, we don't even get one train a day, either direction on the line!
Another crossing loop isn't going to gain 3 trains each direction every day.
Currently the bottle neck is Tatyoon to Ararat, Trains have to be held at Emu, Maryborough, Maroona or Tatyoon if there is the opposing move in transit.
Knowing the limitations operators do not currently program grain trains on Yelta or S Lake / Mtang due to operational limitations that exist.
A BG train from Glng to Mbgh cannot leave Creswick if a SG movement is occurring at Mbgh to or from Art.
Turello reinstatement will help a little bit.
SG trains are often held at Mbgh in the short 2 road as there are train at Ararat or coming from Dim or Glg to Mbgh and this blocks the ARTC loops needed for other purposes not sidings.
