NSW - Cityrail Where Is It? - CRYPTIC VERSION

  Faredodger Chief Commissioner

Location: Hiding anywhere the ticket inspectors can't see me
I think 'M" is appropriate for male, as it is a common abbreviation on forms one has to fill in, but I share Valvegear's reservations regarding "well hung" as a synonym for "in place".  Not that I have any real hang-ups about it...

The clue wasn’t “in place” as a synonym for “well hung”.  It was a cryptic definition clue, being “like a painting well hung” = “art in place”.

By itself without more, that’s somewhat obscure. However, the clue strongly points to “M + art”, and that points you strongly to Martin Place. From there you can reverse engineer “art in place” to match to the clue.

So IMHO the clue was challenging but gettable. Maybe even kinda obvious in hindsight.

(All that just to set up the conclusion, which is also the next clue…)

Are you sure they are adjectives and not adverbs?
  Sonofagunzel Minister for Railways

One of the two adjectives in the clue can sometimes be used as an adverb, but not in this clue.
