Budget papers reveal funding to deliver existing outstanding 2 sg sets, plus 8 bg commuter sets bringing it up to 100 Commuer sets and 6 sg sets PLUS 12 x 3 car bg for Warrnambool & Shepparton to replace loco hauled bringing total to 118 sets of which 6 are sg .
So didn't Swine Hill qualify for a set of these longer distance hot rods.
Thought that would be a part of the long haul services or will I be pushing up daisy's before that happens ?

As Mike points out the Swan Hill line needs a bit of work before Vlo's can operate up there. The Swan Hills will soon be the last loco hauled services in Vic, with very strong talk that they'll only be shuttles between Bendigo and Swan Hill as well. Allegedly servicing of the loco's and car sets to be carried out in Bendigo, freeing up valuable siding + workshop space around SCS and allowing Victrack/V/Line to rejig Dynon and the Bank sidings etc to better suit Vlocity operations.
Thanks Mike & Jakar, yes well aware the Vlo's need the track, level crossings and probably signaling to be given a major refurbishment but I thought for some reason this line was part of the program with W'bool and Shep, don't know how I came to that conclusion.
So there's no similar program to up-grade this line in the short term. You would have to think it would be, but perhaps it's out of sight, out of mind like the line to Echuca.
The best case scenario will be if the track could be kept in good nick for 115kph loco hauled if this possible, which may not be such a bad situation if people are transferring to Velocity at Bendigo as Jakar has hinted.
