No takers?  I don't want to give too much away:

No guess so far has been on the right line.

I had closed by 1980.

I am in the northern half of the state.

Not Strathkellar.  I said the northern half of the state.

Sorry,Strathallan. Too many “Strath’s” in Victoria these days

Not Ouyen, JMarto15.

I suspected that's what you really meant, hbedriver, but I didn't want to prompt you, especially since Strathallan is the right answer.  ("Strath" is, I believe, a Gaelic word meaning "level place by a waterside".  The station was previously named Cornelia Creek, but renamed after a local homestead.)

Interestingly, I read that the time designations in the W.T.T. of the 30's in relation to the crossing of trains were highlighted with a swatstika.  I'm not sure how widespread the practice was, but it was before an otherwise gentle and peaceful symbol became so unfavourably, and probably irrevocably, associated with Herr Schickelgruber.

The road is yours, hbedriver.

There's no swastika in the 1932 Northern & Midland WTT: https://www.victorianrailways.net/timetables/1932wttsmall.pdf

There is in the Northern & Midland WTT dated the 28th March 1938, at which time Strathallan was used as a crossing station where the 12.10 p.m. down Echuca pass. ex Bendigo crossed with the 120 p.m. up Echuca pass.  Strathallan was opened as a staff station at that time, with a Divided Staff in the Rochester instrument for the Echuca section.  (Source: Jack McLean in Australian Railway Enthusiast, December 1973)

Fair enough. The 1932 table shows Strathallan could be opened as a temporary block post. I might dig out my ARE mag and see what Jack says.

Dear old Jack had some great tales to tell, mostly true. I remember him coming into the office regularly, somehow having arranged open access for himself, perusing signal diagrams during the early 1980’s.

Back to business.

Some interesting guesses there (not many would remember Hernes Oak was a junction, nice thought there, Faredodger), but none correct.

The second word is not "Junction".

Well done to Kitchgp; Lal Lal it is. Although the pedants might argue it is one word twice. Good to see some other good ideas as well, good work all.

Over to you, Kitchgp!
