SCT ran 7609V with CSR002-T414 to Barnawartha through Albion @ 03:47 this morning, but unfortunately no video was available.

4 x ABSYs and 3PBGYs. Departed SCT, Laverton 03:23.

CSR002 is now returning to Melbourne light engine.

Interesting Railpage has data of up to 17 SCT vans on BM7/MB7 services over the recent period.  I wonder if we will see wagons attached/detached at Barnawartha for both Northbound and Southbound Services although I believe the traffic will be from Laverton to Barnawartha and vv.

Any ideas?

When are SCT likely to start regular trains into and out of the new terminal?

Next week or the following week at the latest.

Brisbane services are expecting an early 2017 start.

Anyone seen a timetable for these trains? The latest ARTC MTP (commencing 18th October 2016) has nothing about it, not even reference to the location. Thanks in advance.

The news article back in July noted that they expected a start late in this year.  Given the MTPs appear to come out every two months, id suggest the next MTP issued will have the services included.

Though there is nothing to stop the service starting before then.

Pretty wet this morning!!

I was there on Thursday.  Theres not lots to see unless you are somehow able to get access to the site.  They do though have the connection in place, and the side of the shed is emblazoned with the SCT logo and colours.  The train and wagons they moved up there must have been in the shed when i drove past.

Driving up and back to Goulburn for Streamliners I saw a T class outside the shed.

Today CSR002 brought two wagons back from Barnawartha as 3WA9.

Can I ask for a clarification of the train number as W = NSW South Coast and A = Adelaide
Did CSR002 drag the two vans all the way to Adelaide or just to Laverton?
ARTC numbering denotes North East Victoria as the letter J so any trains originating or terminating at Barnawartha should have the J numbering
So if this movement was Barnawartha to Laverton surely the numbering should be 3JM9

I was also thinking the same.  Could it have been an extended service to NE Vic?

Also forgive my laziness but what time did the loco pass via Albion on the Down and was it a light engine movement?

As luck would have it CSR002 as train 6708 is currently on its way south from the site having just passed Benalla presumably heading to Laverton.  Monitoring the cameras at Albion.

Must have been at  least three as the PBGY in the first pic has a black roof, the PBGY in the second pic has a white roof plus the CQMY.

Driving past there this morning i saw one SCT loco and a couple of the high cube vans on the northern end of the sidings, Plus a B-Double was parked on the apron behind the train so maybe sum pictures were being taken of the new venture.

Interestingly, they mention in another story linked further down in the second linked document, that they will be introducing their own services on Melbourne-Brisbane.  This is in conjunction with the new Bromelton terminal.

Standard ABFX vans were always known as high cube in the rail industry prior to the overheight ones introduced by SCT.
In those days there we 40 tonners (VLCX etc), 50 ton (VLEX, WBAX, NLKY etc) and high cube ABFX.

The contract for Aurizon to haul Melbourne to Brisbane loading expires on December 31.

It is expected that SCT will begin their own service from Altona to Brisbane at the start of 2017.  The Barnawartha loading will be picked up and dropped off on the way through.  This will no doubt start as a small train but can be expected to build up fairly quickly, especially when Bromelton opens.

Im probably preempting things but id be interested to see if they end up getting some NG stock and running on the Qld NCL too.  Though, this would be a long way way of course.
