Couple of BL's probably heading down from Nhill. SSR in Dimboola, I think they go to Melbourne though. From a long way off and nigh on dark it looked like an L and a couple of B class.

Thanks for that, couldn't get out to see if BL30 was with them, heard that BL31 joined up past Stawell as BL30 wasn't working.  Of course I have no way to confirm this but it explains why there were three locos when two were more than enough.

Just for something different. ARTC carrying out sleeper replacement in the port sidings using a mix of concrete and timber sleepers.

So has it gone quiet on the grain train front down there guys or is it just too monotonous to report day in day out?

Or is it possible they are full up and waiting for the ship due at the end of Feb?

No trains since Y115 reported the last one. I guess ARTC are taking the opportunity to replace some dodgy sleepers. It looks like concrete on the normal track and timber on the points.

Thanks Jack, any idea if it has been booked out for a period of time (say a week or two) or if they are just doing the work between trains?

They just do the work between trains as they have been doing it for years.  Sorry about no reports as there has been nothing to report!  Will be back with next train.
