Noticing this post in twitter and being a fan of trams I asked myself where are the r class trams or have they all been destroyed when retired?

This Melbourne Tram Museum article gives a brief outline of the fate of the R class:

It appears the body of R.153 (Bendigo 22) survives at Bendigo. There seems to have been two Ballarat Nos 29. The first, ex-MMTB J.73, was renumbered Ballarat 17. There is no information about the second, ex-MMTB R.152

Information I have says that R152 became Ballarat #22(2nd) in 1936, was renumbered 29(2nd) in 1938, withdrawn sometime in the 1940s and scrapped during 1950.
If Bendigo have the body of R153, they've rescued it from somewhere as the body of that one was, apparently, sold out of service in 1956.
