So you're just here to play 'semantic gotcha' with Don Dunstan. Got it.
"don_dunstan"
Not really. It's just a matter of letting him know that we can see through him and his pathetic attempts to justify his obvious mistakes. It would be a shame to waste so many Don-given opportunities. Have you noticed how often, when he's caught, he resorts to the accusation of "semantics"? Does anyone think that Don calling something a joke, and then changing his mind and calling it facts, constitutes semantics? No; as previously mentioned, it was a stuff up. Poor Don.

Well its kinda the definition of what you're doing, Valvegear - we spend an inordinate amount of time arguing over the precise meanings of different words - about my slightly poor choice of words from time to time, rather than actually discussing the things that I'd like to chat about. Viz, Joe Biden, Anthony Albanese and all those other freaks from the circus.

That's exactly what's ended up happening over the last page on this thread - the really genuinely mind-numbing pursuit of unpacking what I meant when I said 26% of voters preferred 'no-one' over Albo. And for the record I stand by what I said there, not only is 24% approval for Albo terrible in the extreme but it's been two years this week and the public are still no warmer to him nor to the Labor brand - they're still in an election-losing position despite the Brittney Higgins thing, despite all the other times that ScoMo came across looking awkward or incompetent.

If Labor is going to do something about it they'd better do it right now - not in another 3 or 4 months when this situation has been allowed to fester even longer.

From someone who argues that half-witted Donald Trump is the dogs bollocks and Pauline Hansen is an advocate of Indigenous People. Where did you get that from? Hans Christian Andersen?

"The 45th President of the United States is saying he will run again in 2024, but seriously, who will vote for him after all his stuff up's, from promoting Hydroxychloroquine which hasn't been peer reviewed as yet, from saying that Covid-19 could be treated with Ultra-Violet light, then leading an insurrection of the Capitol building, what??? this bloke can't be serious.

I suppose this could relate to Scroto the liar, you know schools are safe, open the state borders, attack the premiers, and now a triple back flip a forward roll and a star jump.

I hope Liz Cheney stands back and lets Trump run again. This time the humiliation will be complete. With less or no rigged electoral boundaries to increase the Republican vote he'll be out on his ear. It's the only way the GoP has a hope of rehabilitating itself.

Every word in there has no relevance at all to the fact that you claimed a joke, then claimed facts, and made a stuff-up of it.
Now, in deference to Graham4405, I will make no further comment.

Because there's such a gaping chasm of semantic meaning between "prefer someone they don't know to Albo" to "prefer no-one over Albo".

Enormous difference isn't it.

Irrelevant. The gaping chasm we're talking about is the one you created between "joke" and "fact".

Dodger Don won't answer or explain the 'joke', we're clearly not on his level and if he has to explain it it won't be funny.....to him I guess as he seems to have been the only one laughing.

Rather sad this attempt at saving face, if you could call it that.

Mejhammers is Jan - doesn't want to be forever remembered as the one-liner "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!" but then they threw five grand at him.

I really don't understand what it is that I'm supposed to say that will satiate your never-ending hissy fit towards me.

Seriously, what is it you want me to say?

I made a joke that 26% would prefer 'nobody' to Albo; you immediately collapse into a heap of writhing anger.

I then admit that it actually says "don't know" - not "nobody" - and still you're stamping your feet and holding your breath.

What is it that you want me to say that will make this screaming lie-down tantrum in the middle of Woolies stop?

A Mars Bar? A Kinder Surprise?

He's strongly hinted at it but hasn't announced a formal candidacy. From Fox;

Pressed for a third time on the possibility of running for office at the conclusion of Biden's first term, Trump responded, "First of all, it's a long time.

"Look, I've got tremendous numbers ... there is more popularity [for me] now than there was the day before the election, because they see how bad things are at the border. They see what is going on, they see that their guns are gonna be gone ... their taxes are going up. Regulations are going through the roof. Job [losses] are going to go up...

"So," he concluded, "I say this. I am looking at it very seriously. Beyond seriously. From a legal standpoint, I don’t want to really talk about it yet. it's a little too soon."
Trump will not run again as he will be in gaol.

What, I'm not allowed to have a life outside my own life with all my friends from The Brady Bunch?

Valvegear is the cranky old maid Alice, Mike is... Mike. Mejahmmers is Jan and RTT_Rules is the voice inside Jan's head telling her to kill everyone.

In between doing actual work on the interwebs I can't imagine anywhere else I'd rather be than right here with the Bradys.
