Tramway Road level crossing was built approximately 3km west of Morwell station. Immediately East of the level crossing, located on the north side, is a small interchange for the APM Maryvale Tramway, built in the mid 20th century to interchange wagons with Victorian Railways and V/line. The APM had their own locomotive to transfer wagons down the tramway to the paper mill. On the south side further down past the interchange is a small siding used to stable track machines, and in the past was used to load ballast trains and containers via the now defunct Gippsland Intermodal Freight Terminal (GIFT).
Traffic is passenger trains east to Traralgon, and west headed to Melbourne via the Gippsland line, and 9472 Paper train run by QUBE which at the junction heads north via the tramway, crossing the Princes Highway and the Maryvale bell block
A few power/lighting poles are located on the North side. Switch equipment is located near the level crossing.
Take the last exit from the M1 highway into Morwell, via C474 Tramway Road.
Suitable parking is located at Minchington Rd, or the rarely used GIFT access road as far as the gate.
There is a bus stop located approx 350m south of Tramway Rd level crossing, on the Morwell via Midvalley to Churchill bus route. (Route 2, Latrobe Valley bus lines)
No shelter or restrooms nearby. Petrol stations and a KFC located to the North of the railway line, respectively each an approx 350m and 800m walk away
