The State Government has received more than 100 submissions about options to address the railway crossing issue at Scone.
Five options have been proposed, including different locations for an overpass and relocating the rail line, with the options ranging in price from 65 million to 250 million dollars.
Upper Hunter MP George Souris says about 200 people attended drop-in sessions, and another workshop will be held next week to help the Roads and Maritime Service decide on a preferred route option.
The community has been calling for action for years with coal trains frequently cutting the town in half.
