There were 106 sightings for the week which is 14 more than last week. Making a total for the year to date at 3853* sightings (* One weekssightings missing in March) (Total sightings up to day 281 last year was 4892).
On the B/G we saw 23 sightings, which were 20 up on last week. B/G sightings
are up due to the Ballarat to Melbourne line being closed for about 10
We saw 9140 and 9141 on every week day. There were four up grain train. And
six down grain trains, out of the 10 grain trains nine of them included a XR
loco. We saw two EMU transfers to and from Ballarat, each working included
T377(CF) plus 2 X 3 car EMU's and a van. We also saw an up ballast train on
Monday with H2+X49 with 13 hoppers.
Two nice big lash up's this week saw G527(PN)+T396+P21+X39+P23 on Monday's
G514+XR55X(PN)+H2+P21+P19 on Friday's 9140, the XR looked like it had just
come out of the paint shops and had no cab side number or PN Decals. Friday
night's 9141 also had a nice lash up of G514+P19+P21+P20.
On the S/G we had nine PN trains missing for the week, MA3 on Sun, AM3 on
Mon, and WP2 on Sun, Fri & Sat, and PW4 on Mon, Tues & Thurs.
We saw 13 DL sightings with seven of them being on the Patrick's trains. We
saw 12 AN class sightings. C501(VR) was seen on three trains. BL35(PN) was
seen on three trains. We saw two GL's, 105 & 108. V544 was seen once going
out on Tuesday's down SCT train. XR555(PN) was seen twice on 9791 and
returning with X51 on 9792. On the P & O trains we saw 18 CLF's and 6 CLP's.
On Sunday we saw an extra up SCT train. Monday's up PM7 came in about 12
hours late with the nice lash up of 5 X NR's,
NR55(TR)+NR57(ST)+NR6+NR102+NR1. Wednesday night's MP5 was through
Gheringhap just after midnight and included another restored PN crew car.
Friday night's MA5 went out with another NR newly painted in Indian Pacific
Livery, NR25(IP) with another NR.
