Sydney Trains says a crack on the tracks which caused extensive delays to commuters last night has been fixed. There were delays of up to an hour and a half on the T1, T9 and T5 lines last night after a small crack was found in a rail between Town Hall and Central.
A Sydney Trains spokesperson said the issue also affected the signalling system because trains had to travel through the affected areas at low speeds for safety reasons.
The crack was repaired by 9:15pm, the spokesperson said.
