Statement from Ixion Model Railways Ltd
Alex Pate took some excellent shots of Sandown and the W class on display. This model looks great coming in 2 forms of livery. In the shots provided V/Line Orange and Grey looks good with the older livery the original VR Blue and Gold also available.
The VR W Class locomotives where introduced onto the railways in 1959. Built by Tulloch in NSW 27 were manufactured and found their way onto the rail yards of the state.
Currently 3 of the class are preserved and operational, 1 is stored pending restoration and 2 have been preserved as static displays and can be viewed.
