The Wodonga council is proposing a 3.5 per cent rate increase for the coming financial year.
...As part of the budget, the remaining land at the Logic freight centre in Barnawartha will be sold to pay off the council's debt and finance new projects...
Council's acting chief executive officer, Michael Gobel, says the Logic sale will pay big projects such as the new pool.
"That's over a $12 million development which will be built over two financial years," he said.
"We've also got a proposed upgrade of the civic centre, significant investment in our CBD and we're anticipating over time that the Wodonga rail bypass project will commence and that will require significant investment."
