Gheringhap Sightings w/e 13/6/2015
Victoria, 3-10 to 8-10-2004
There were 86 sightings for this week. This is one sighting more than last week, making a total of 3312 sightings for this year to date. On day 276 last year we had recorded 3915 sightings.
We have seen no trains on the B/G this week, only one sighting of EM100 on Wednesday. From next week we see the start of a new timetable for the Mildura fruit trains, they are no longer 9140 & 9141. They will be numbered 9103 via Gheringhap (1343) on Monday, 9107 via Gheringhap (1343) on Wednesday and 9111 via Bacchus Marsh (2144) on Fridays down trains. And the up trains will be 9100 via B/M (0349 Mon) on Sunday, 9104 via B/H (0229 Wed) on Tuesday and 9108 via Gheringhap (0345 Fri) on Thursday. It’s Interesting to note that the S circular states that 9103 and 9107 will shunt cement wagons at North Shore and 9108 will detach empty cement at North Geelong. As over the last few weeks this as been done at Gheringhap, and every day this week a gang of workmen and machinery have been very busy laying two new footpaths, one each side of the former gypsum siding? And it will be Interesting to see how many of these trains do actually run via Gheringhap every week.
On the S/G we have seen 16 sightings of AN class locos, of which six of them were seen on the Patrick’s trains along with eight XRB slave unit sightings. On the SCT trains we have seen 19 sightings of SCT class locos and two sightings of SCT G class locos.
We have seen 13 sleeper trains this week with 15 X 81 class sightings. And on the P & O trains we have seen nine sightings of LDP’s 03/04 and 08. Six sightings of QRN’s CLP11 & 13. Two CLF sightings and one sighting of 2204.
On Sunday BA6 went out with NR88+NR86+NR2+NR62. And MP5 went out with NR77 leading in its new PN livery. Tuesday’s up P & O train included 20 SCT vans. Thursday’s up SCT train came in with SCT015?+SCT007+SCT009?+SCT001*. Friday’s up and Saturday’s down Overland had 12 vehicles including two vans and two IP/Ghan cars. Saturday’s up SCT came in with SCT004+SCT013+OIL POD+SCT003+G515(S)+G521(S) and AB6 came in with NR18+NR91*+AN5(PN)+NR87.
Regards, Graham Elliott.
