Transperth says the results of a customer satisfaction survey show its security initiatives are working.
The survey asked more than 4,000 public transport users to rate Transperth's performance in areas such as punctuality, availability of services and how safe they felt when using public transport.
The Public Transport Authority says while 18 per cent of bus passengers and 24 per cent of train passengers did not feel safe on board at night, 98 per cent of bus and train users felt safe during the day.
