The New South Wales Government has announced funds to design a replacement for the notorious Kapooka Bridge on the Olympic Highway.
The bridge over the main southern railway has long been a safety issue for truck drivers, with one semi overturning on the dog leg early this month.
The Minister for Roads, David Borger, says $500,000 has been allocated to continue planning for a new bridge.
But there is no construction funding as yet.
The RTA will consult with the Australian Rail Track Corporation, Wagga Wagga City Council and Kapooka Army Base.
The preferred option is expected to be displayed by the end of the year.
