DB Regio selected for Rhein-Neckar operating contract
Railroad Development Corp’s vehicle leasing and management business RDC Asset has awarded ŽOS Trnava a three-year contract to maintain its overnight train coaches, with a guaranteed minimum order of 10 vehicles per year. The work will start with Bvcmz couchette cars.
ŽOS Trnava director Peter Toth said the project was in line with the Slovakian rolling stock manufacturing and repair company’s long-term strategy to expand in the passenger sector and increase its business with foreign private customers. Several other projects for the modernisation of coaches for domestic and foreign customers were at various stages of negotiation, he added.
RDC Asset has a fleet of 200 km/h seating and catering cars, and what it says is the largest night train fleet in Germany comprising a mix of couchette and sleeping cars.
