A transport industry lobby group is calling on the Victorian Government to improve transport options to Melbourne Airport.
The Tourism and Transport Forum says the Tullamarine Freeway should be widened to six lanes and the existing skybus should be given priority on the freeway.
Melbourne Airport is a member of the forum.
The group's chief executive, Ken Morrison, says the long-term solution is a train line to the airport.
"It was Australia's first planned airport and did a good job back in the day of planning for its own growth," he said.
"But one of things that we haven't got there is that high-capacity train access to the airport. And it's certainly a gap."
