The 21 locomotives comprise four NDJ3N locomotives, six DF11GN diesel passenger locomotives, nine DF8BN freight locomotives and two DF7GN locomotives. The four NDJ3N and six DF11GN locomotives will be shipped from Shanghai by the end of October.
The locomotives will be used on the 186.5km standard-gauge line linking the capital Abuja with Kaduna, as well as on the new Lagos – Ibadan line which is due to open next year.
CRRC Qishuyan is training Nigerians as locomotive drivers and maintenance technicians.
