The order marks CRRC’s first order in Britain. CRRC says the wagons will undergo testing in Britain, to ensure they meet Technical Standards for Operability (TSI), British notified national technical rule (NNTR) and London Underground standards.
The wagons can operate on both the conventional and underground networks, removing the need to transfer materials between wagons.
CRRC says the vehicles feature innovative braking and coupling systems and bogies, as well as a large volume and a low-floor structure with movable side and end walls to increase versatility as either a flat or gondola wagon.
