SATURDAY – Bring Dad out to the Museum on the Saturday before “his” day, and let him revv up his motor! Check out antique tractors, hit-and-miss engines and early diesel engines, Model A and Model T cars, and even a Fire Truck! Take a ride behind our diesel engine-powered locomotive, looping around our 15 acre railyard, every half-hour from 10 am to 3 pm.
Enjoy great local food and treats as well as Turntable Demonstrations and our own friendly mascot, Spike the Railroad Dog! Activities and train rides all take place between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. this day, with the Museum grounds open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Advance tickets recommended, especially if you have a specific train ride time in mind!

Grounds open 9 am–5pm, Special Event activities operate 10am-3pm, rides operate every 30 minutes 10am to 3pm (crews take a lunch break at 12:30 pm).

At 2 pm, join award-winning videographer Rich Luckin for a special screening of his newest production: the history of one of North America’s premier locomotive builders, Electro-Motive Division! The video itself runs approximately 60 minutes, and will be followed by a Q&A session with the videographer. Ages 12 and older only, please. Included with regular Museum admission. EMD at 100 For a century, EMD has built the majority of diesel locomotives in North America and the world. This new video looks at this builder’s origins, growth and development, supremacy, and its role today as an arm of Progress Rail. This intricate and interesting story is told through historic images, and brought to life through interviews with company employees and noted railroad historians.
