L.B. Foster was awarded a supply contract to provide concrete ties for the Houston Metro Rail Operations Center (ROC) maintenance and rehabilitation project.
The Company’s concrete tie facility in Spokane, WA manufactured the 5,200 CXT Concrete Ties required for the expansion of the Houston railyard as well as rail rehabilitation, replacing all existing wood ties.
“It was a quick turnaround with all orders for the project placed in December 2020 and final deliveries made in January 2021,” commented Brian Royak, Sales Manager – Southeast for L.B. Foster Rail Technologies & Services. L.B. Foster provided boots-on-the-ground sales/customer service support, addressing any questions or issues that came up throughout the project. “Our strong relationships with the contractor and owner coupled with our local presence led to a successful overall project,” continued Royak.
