On Monday, Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) issued work orders to Larsen & Toubro, Tata Projects and HCC-KEC JV for civil construction on 4 major underground and elevated packages of the 118.9KM Chennai Metro Phase 2 project.
This exciting development comes just days after the completion of Tamil Nadu’s state election process. Two contracts are for tunnelling work of the 45.813 km Line-3 (Madhavaram – SIPCOT), while two contracts are for the elevated viaduct & station work of the 26.09 km Line-4 (Light House – Poonamallee Bus Depot). Final contract values for all four are unknown at this time.
