Hull Trains has announced that passengers in East Yorkshire won’t be missing out on a weekend in London, despite the planned closure for London Kings Cross.
London Kings Cross will be closed on the 5th/6th of June which may have disrupted passengers looking to travel to London to meet up with loved ones after the easing of lockdown restrictions.
However, Hull Trains has announced that they will operate trains from East Yorkshire to London St Pancras rather than Kings Cross over the weekend.
This announcement comes as the operator is planning to increase the number of services it runs a week to 68, to help passengers who are looking to celebrate the end of lockdown.
Managing Director of Hull Trains, Louise Cheeseman, said: “We are delighted to finally be offering our passengers an increased number of weekly direct services to London. We recognise the desire from people to start planning weekends away and meeting with friends and family, so Hull Trains is offering a range of great value tickets for those wanting to travel by train now that lockdown is easing.”
“After such a challenging year, it’s great to be welcoming travellers back onto our trains, and our services to St Pancras will ensure people can get back to enjoying the sights and activities in London on June 5th and 6th without complication.”
Services over the weekend will not call at Beverley, Cottingham, Doncaster, Retford, Grantham or Stevenage and will only call at Hull Paragon and London St Pancras.
On Friday 4th June, a reduced timetable to or from London Kings Cross will operate up until midday, and no trains will not run after this time.
