Austrian Federal Railways (OEBB) and Siemens Mobility have unveiled the exterior design of the new Nightjet trains during a press conference in Vienna on 23 February.

The new night trains will enter passenger service towards the end of 2022 and will initially serve connections from Austria and Germany to Italy. OEBB has already called 13 trainsets from a framework agreement with Siemens Mobility. It is likely OEBB will call a further 20 units later in 2021.
