Pacific National 4BM4 lead by NR39/NR43/ANXx has derailed at Gana Glen, New South Wales just north of Coffs Harbour. Northern Line blocked, NR39 off the rails and on its side.
It is believed the crew of the goods train travelling between Brisbane and Melbourne are safe. A single locomotive remains on its side with many wagons strewn across the tracks and down embankments with one coming to rest in a park adjacent the rail line.
Crews are still on scene and the incident is expected to be ongoing for a number of days.
Much rain has frequented the area in recent days which may have contributed to the derailment.
