Yesterday was prototype day at the Adirondack Live Steamers. Among other things, which I’ll share later, we made the trip south to see what prototype operations on a 7.25 in gauge railroad is all about.
When we arrived, all the trains were tied down as the crews ate their lunch.
I began to walk the railroad to film a tour. Not long after, Brad Peterson, the dispatcher of the day, headed up to the new dispatching tower and things came alive.
I didn’t grab many photos, as I only had one camera with me, but it was awesome to watch train crews and the disaptcher work together to keep things moving. From the dispatching tower, Brad (mostly) kept things moving along.
Overall, we had a great couple of hours, and I can’t wait to get more involved with prototype day in the future.
I’ll be heading to Waterville, Maine, for a day this week. Stay tuned… -Harrison
