New infrastructure is being built to enhance light rail in Canberra.
CONSTRUCTION works are continuing to build the new light rail Sandford Street Stop in the Canberra suburb of Mitchell.
Works will take place along the light rail alignment on Flemington Road near Sandford Street, Mitchell.
There will be no light rail services operating between Gungahlin Place and EPIC & Racecourse stops for one weekend, Saturday 13 to Sunday 14 March 2021.
Light rail services will continue to run between Alinga Street and EPIC & Racecourse stops during this time.
To assist customers during this time rail replacement bus services will be provided between Gungahlin Place and Dickson Interchange.
These services will be operated by Qcity.
There will be additional wayfinding signage and CMET Customer Service Officers on the light rail network to assist customers.
Flemington Road (between Randwick Road and Sandford Street) will be closed for the duration of the works to both cyclists and cars.
Bus route 18 is to be diverted during this time.
A partial light rail network shutdown will occur between EPIC and Racecourse and Gungahlin Place stops for one weekend from Saturday 13 March to Sunday 14 March 2021.
There will be no light rail services operating between Gungahlin Place and EPIC and Racecourse stops.
Rail replacement bus services will be servicing all stops between Gungahlin Place and Dickson Interchange.
