Two historic postcards of the North Bay Railway in Scarborough have been found as well as a Golden Jubilee booklet which was published 40 years ago.
The find comes after the recent takeover of the North Bay Railway by the owners of the Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway.
The old postcards show off the scenes of pre-war holidaymakers enjoying a ride on the minature railway, and were found by Mike Swift from Huddersfield who is the former secretary of the Narrow Gauge Railway Society as well as a founding shareholder of the Lincolnshire Coast Light Railway, which now runs in the Skegness Water Leisure Park.

Mike prompted the owners of the Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway, John Kerr and Peter Bryant, to look for old photographs of the LCLR after their ‘lockdown tidy up’ found unpublished photos of the CCLR before it closed in 1985.
Railway supporters searched files and boxes and unseen photos of both railways were found.
Prompted by the response of their publication, Mike Swift found two postcards in his collection and these have been copied and sent to the new owners of the line. The booklet, first published in 1981 by Scarborough Borough Council, who were at the time the owners of the railway.

However, it is thought that there may be many more unseen photos of all three railways, in particular, old family photos in photo albums.
