Australian Railway Historical Society NSW Division invites you to make a booking on the rail tour you have all been waiting for – The Inaugural 10-day Grand Circle Rail Tour of NSW, South Australia & Victoria in the Heritage 621 / 721 Rail Cars Departing Monday, 24th May 2021.
Paterson-Maitland-Broadmeadow-Gosford-Concord West-Bathurst- Parkes-Ivanhoe-Broken Hill-Peterborough-Adelaide-Murray Bridge- Horsham-Melbourne-Albury-Wagga Wagga-Bundanoon-Central- Gosford-Broadmeadow-Maitland-Paterson
In the event of cancellation due to Covid -19 precautions, all monies will be fully refunded.
Day 1 –Monday 24th May – LD Paterson, Maitland, Broadmeadow, Gosford, Concord West, Bathurst to Parkes – Overnight at the Parkview Motor Inn. Getting to know you pre dinner drinks in the bar before dinner in the Dining Room Lunch TBC
Day 2 – Tuesday 25th May – BLD Parkes to Broken Hill. Breakfast at the Motel. Travel to Ivanhoe for lunch on the platform, then on to Broken Hill – overnight at the Comfort Inn located opposite the station. Dinner at the Chinese Restaurant next to your motel.
Day 3 – Wednesday 26th May – BL Broken Hill Day Sightseeing Tour. Breakfast at Musicians Club. Join our coach for a look around Broken Hill with a visit to the Sulphide Street Railway and Historical Museum, Morning tea at Stuart Park. Visit the Pro Hart Gallery. Travel to Silverton with lunch at the Silverton Hotel, (drinks & museum entry not included). On the way back to town we will stop at the Statues for sunset and nibbles. Dinner at your own cost and leisure.
Day 4 – Thursday 27th May BLD Broken Hill to Adelaide. Breakfast at Musicians Club then back on the rails bound for Adelaide. Lunch at Peterborough and a guided tour of the Railway Museum (included). On arrival in Adelaide, a coach will transfer you to your motel for the next 2 nights. Dinner will be served in the hotel.
Day 5 – Friday 28th May BL. Adelaide Day Coach Tour. Breakfast at the motel prior to boarding the coach for a day of sightseeing around Adelaide (included). Dinner at your own cost and leisure.
Day 6 – Saturday 29th May BLD Adelaide-Horsham. Breakfast at your motel, say farewell Adelaide and travel to Horsham. We stop at Murray Bridge for cruise on Paddle Steamer (tentative due to Covid19 restrictions). There will be an alternative if this does not operate.
Transfer to your accommodation where dinner will be served
Day 7 – Sunday 30th May – BLD Horsham to Melbourne Southern Cross Station, Breakfast at the Motel before our departure. On arrival transfer to our accommodation at Batman’s Hill Hotel. Lunch stop to be confirmed with dinner at the Hotel
Day 8 – Monday 31st May – BL Sightseeing in Melbourne. Breakfast at the Hotel – Join the coach for a day of exploring around Melbourne or an alternative day visit to Puffing Billy is available at your own cost. Dinner at your own cost & leisure.
Day 9 – Tuesday 1st June – BLD Melbourne-Wagga Wagga. Breakfast at the Hotel, transfer to Southern Cross Station and all aboard the train travelling northward with a Lunch stop in Albury. Then on to Wagga Wagga to transfer by coach to comfortable accommodation to rest your travel weary bones, with a happy hour for pre dinner drinks before our final group dinner together.
Day 10 – Wednesday 2nd June – BLD Wagga Wagga-Paterson. Breakfast at the Hotel, Transfer to the station for the homeward bound leg of our tour. A Lunch stop at Bundanoon, then on to Central Station before returning home to Paterson. Dinner will be brought onto the train.
