A woman has been killed and a young boy is in a critical condition after a horror crash at Wye in the Limestone Coast on Friday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the crash, south of Mount Gambier, about 12.30pm following reports of a crash between a truck and a car. The truck was a large logging truck one of 100's of daily trucks on the highways around Mount Gambier and on the road to the Port of Portland. Residents have been calling for the reopening of the rail line to Bordertown and Heywood in an effort to remove trucks making the roads much safer for the travelling puiblic.
The driver, a 38-year-old woman from Western Australia, died at the scene.
