Due to V/Line track works on the Echuca Line, Steamrail's planned tour to Echuca on the 6th May is no longer able to reach Echuca, since this tour begins at Castlemaine using carriages from the Victorian Goldfields Railway, after consulting with booked passengers Steamrail have decided to run the train to Swan Hill instead on the same day.

In a capacious brick warehouse in the historic Eveleigh railway precinct, hundreds of tonnes of heritage railway carriages and equipment is sitting idle after the NSW government terminated a tour company's access to the site and changed the locks.
For 30 years, 3801 Limited, a heritage rail company run by volunteers, has had almost exclusive use of the warehouse - called the Large Erecting Shop - to run its historic railway tours through the Southern Highlands and along the Hawkesbury River.

As light rail works its way down Northbourne Avenue, the ACT Heritage Council is reminding Canberrans that rail was always part of the vision for the city.
In a bid to preserve the evidence of the railway laid out by Walter Burley and Marion Mahony Griffin in their 1911 design, the council has provisionally registered Canberra's early railway remnants.

Seymour Railway Heritage Centres “Santa’s Express” Tour to the Tocumwal Foreshore Markets this December will be hauled by Blue and Gold B74 and freshly painted T357. Both wooden E Carriages and Steel former Spirit of Progress S Carriages will be the fleet of carriages together with the fantastic beautifully restored 110 year old Yarra Parlor Carriage.

Mustard must have seemed the perfect colour for Flinders Street Station in 1980.
It would have matched the Yarra River's mucky brown and the grey industrial gloom of the factory buildings on the river's south bank.
