The last two of 37 'World' Alcos originally built for the South Australian Railways, 961/963, have just arrived with empty V/Line hoppers at Balaklava in the Mid North of South Australia.
Taken on 25 January 1995 I think I'm standing on top of a hopper loaded with barley for Yarrarwonga in Victoria that will form the consist for the return journey.
Changes over the last twenty years would see this consignment go by road, rail being unable to cope with the task as train no longer go to Balaklava.
