In the last year of first generation ALCo power on the North Coast, twin ALCo-powered units 44234/4482 lead southbound interstate freight no.6290 near Bundook, New South Wales on 27 July 1993.
44234 was a model DL500G built by AE Goodwin in 1972, 4482 a DL500B built by the same manufacturer five years earlier in 1967.
The surviving members of both classes were withdrawn en-masse by the end of July 1994, although a handful of each class managed to survive into private ownership.
