The long and unrelenting drive from Belgrave to Gembrook is at an end, but before the crew of 12A can enjoy a reprieve from their duties they must first service the century old steam locomotive.
After their passengers have disembarked at Gembrook, the train is shunted back into the old Historic station yard. The locomotive then runs around the train, shunts it back into the dead-end station platform, and then shuttles off to the servicing area on the other side of the station. Here, the smokebox is emptied of ash, the fire is cleaned, and its water tanks are filled up. Finally, the volunteer driver and fireman go about cleaning the iconic locomotives, and ensuring their prestigious appearance is maintained for the journey home.
